CORI Requirements

Safe Environment Training and CORI Requirements for Volunteers:
 
Bishop Feehan and the Fall River Diocese are committed to the protection of all of our students. Accordingly, all of our faculty and staff and all of our volunteers must complete Safe Environment training and CORI (background check) before working or volunteering at Feehan.
 
A CORI background check is good for all Fall River Diocese entities, St. John the Evangelist (SJE), St. Mary-Sacred Heart (SMSH), or St Mary School (Mansfield). If you have been approved by any of these other schools or parishes, please contact [email protected].
For NEW Applicants:
Steps 1-4 are required to complete the Feehan CORI process.
 
1. Register for Volunteer Opportunities on the One Feehan Volunteers Portal. A description of available opportunities is available here.
 
2. Complete the CORI Acknowledgement Form: The CORI background check is only good for 1 year and must be renewed annually.
a. Complete a CORI Acknowledgement Form (download here).
b. Take a photocopy or picture of the front and back of your current driver's license.
c. Email a copy of the completed CORI form and copy of your license to [email protected].
d. If you prefer, you may mail the forms to the Advancement Office at Bishop Feehan.
 
3. Volunteers within the Diocese must complete the Safe Environment Training. You will view three Safe Haven videos with a Q&A session. Please be sure to electronically sign the Code of Conduct at the end of the videos. This Safe Environment Training will be good for six years once it is complete.

b. Email a copy of your Certificate of Completion to [email protected]. You can access your completion certificate after you are certified by returning to the CMG connect training dashboard and clicking Print Certificate.
 
4*. ATTENTION RHODE ISLAND RESIDENTS: All Rhode Island residents need to submit a disclaimer, allowing us permission to request an out-of-state background check. This form will be notarized by Lauren Cayer, Business Manager.
a. Complete and sign this disclaimer
b. You may submit the disclaimer via email to [email protected]. 
c. Alternatively, you may mail it to the Advancement Office.
d. Please do not take a picture of these documents with a mobile device for submission. The quality is not acceptable to be notarized.
 
* Have you lived in Massachusetts for less than 10 years?
  • If you have moved from RI to MA less than 10 years ago, you must still complete the RI disclaimer.
  • If you have moved from any other state to MA less than 10 years ago, you must complete the National Background Check module on the CMG Connect website.

Once everything is submitted, your CORI status will be marked as "yes" in our One Feehan Volunteers software system, and you will be qualified to volunteer.

For RENEWAL Applicants:
 
As a returning volunteer, you are already registered with One Feehan Volunteers and completed the Safe Environment Training which is good for six years for all Fall River Diocese entities.
 
You now need to complete the annual CORI Acknowledgement Form.
