Policies and Factors
The standardized exam is given annually on a Saturday in early December. For 2012, the test will be given on December 1st at 7:45 am. The applicant’s score on this exam is a major factor in determining their acceptance to Bishop Feehan. The exam scores are also used for placement along with other elements of the application in all grade 9 classes. Applicants must pay a testing fee of $20 and bring #2 pencils. Calculators are not allowed.
Note: An applicant who takes the exam at another location must have his/her exam scores faxed to the Admissions office. An applicant will not be considered without entrance exam scores.
We are pleased to announce our new online application process. You can apply to Bishop Feehan High School online at www.bishopfeehan.com. The application deadline is December 13th. The application is a 3 step process. All steps need to be completed by this date to successfully complete your application. Applicants received after this date will not be considered until all other applicants have been reviewed.
The applicant must submit transcripts showing grades for a minimum of two preceding years. Forms must be taken to your present school to be completed by the person who handles grade reporting. The applicant’s present school should return these forms to Bishop Feehan as soon as possible but no later than the deadline specified. Applicants transferring from another high school must have a 3.0 grade point average.
Parish Recommendation Form
All applicants regardless of religious affiliation must demonstrate an active faith life. Bishop Feehan will mail a form to your parish or place of worship for verification with the indicated information that you have provided here on this page. If you do not have a place of worship, please indicate “none/not applicable” on this page. Although priority is given to applicants who have attended Catholic schools and/or religious education programs, Bishop Feehan strives to admit academically qualified applicants regardless of religious affiliation who are actively involved in their faith life.
Parents must write a statement indicating why they would like their applicant to attend Bishop Feehan. This is part of the application process.
Every applicant is required to interview with Bishop Feehan. Applicants will be scheduled for an interview in January once their application has been submitted. Transfer applicants will be interviewed once their application is submitted.
Bishop Feehan hosts an Open House at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4th. A formal program with tours is held.
Class of 2017 applicants with a completed online application have the opportunity to visit our school and have a Bishop Feehan student guide them through "a day and a life" at Feehan. Interested parents should call Mrs. Lynn Gale in our Admissions Office at 508.226.1731 to schedule a visit for their child as soon as possible to request availability of dates.
The following may also be considered:
The fact that a qualified applicant has a sibling attending Bishop Feehan is a factor in acceptance but not a guarantee.
The fact that a qualified applicant has a parent, grandparent, aunt/uncle or cousin who has graduated from Bishop Feehan is a factor in acceptance but not a guarantee.
All applicants must present a discipline record to Bishop Feehan in their application from their current school.
An applicant’s complete file will be reviewed by the admissions committee in mid-January. Transfers will be reviewed in May on a space available basis. Parents of 8th grade applicants will be notified by mail of acceptance, probationary status or non-acceptance of their student’s application by February 1st.
